This change helps prevent misconceptions about recyclability and underscores our commitment to clear communication and transparency.

In regions like New Jersey, where regulations mandate 10% post-consumer recycled content in single-use rigid plastic containers, HC Companies has taken steps to ensure compliance for our customers. HC products are registered with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Compliance, and we can provide exemption documents for the portion of HC products that are not covered by the regulations. Additionally, HC offers products with 10% PCR content, certified by third-party organizations, for the portion of products that are covered to help customers meet compliance requirements.

HC Companies offers sustainable alternatives such as molded pulp fiber, biobased materials, and compostable plastics, which are not only microplastic-free but also carry third-party certifications, making them unaffected by most upcoming single-use plastics regulations. For instance, Ecogrow, a plastic-free molded pulp product, holds USDA 100% biobased certification and is entirely compostable, made from 100% recycled paper.

Another noteworthy innovation is BioPax, a USDA-certified biobased and compostable advanced bioplastic derived from trees. This material offers durability similar to traditional plastics and is automation-friendly, making it a practical choice for various applications.
