Corporate Charity Lends a Helping Hand to Teens with Exceptionalities

In searching for a corporate charity, The HC Companies wanted to partner with a local organization where we’d have the opportunity to see the impacts of our efforts.

An organization that understands giving your time and providing opportunities to individuals who could benefit from a helping hand delivers some of the most gratifying rewards.

The HC Companies found such a corporate charity organization in the Two Foundation.

“The Two Foundation exists to create a movement of full integration in the local workforce for individuals with exceptionalities. We do this by bridging the gap between individuals and local business partners. We prepare, place and support our job seekers.”

The Two Foundation assists local high schools with transition goals for 16-22-year-old students with mild to moderate special needs by providing them with job placement, job coaching, and ongoing support.

It begins at their training facility in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, called the Two Café and Boutique. There, individuals with exceptionalities learn on-the-job training by preparing food in the kitchen, as servers and dishwashers, and even on how to best interact with customers – all under the watchful and compassionate eyes of Two Foundation employees.

While every teenager with exceptionalities has unique challenges, the goal is to help provide them with skills to become active members of the working world through job placement programs throughout the community.

After spending time with businesses and their employees to determine if they’re the right fit for the mission of the Two Foundation, they’re provided the tools and support needed to hire and successfully manage individuals who experience mild to moderate cognitive abilities. The HC Companies in Middlefield, Ohio, is proud to be on that list.

The café is open Tuesday – Saturday from 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM and allows patrons to see their charitable donations advancing the hard-working young men and women who are part of the program.

Charitable Golf Outing
The HC Companies hosts a charity golf outing and fundraiser each spring, benefiting the Two Foundation. With the support of our suppliers, customers, and several of our dedicated HC employees, we’re able to provide a generous monetary donation to the Two Foundation that helps supplement all the remarkable initiatives they provide to both individuals and the community.
